KYAS Security was built by a parent, for parents. We believe that protecting your family shouldn't mean selling your family's data. Unlike other safety apps that profit from your location and personal information, we operate on a simple principle: it's about being safe, not making money.

IMPORTANT: Parent Version vs. Individual Privacy
For Minors (Under 18): Parents can enable location tracking to ensure their children's safety. This is a parent's right and responsibility.
For Adults: All adult family members maintain complete privacy control. Location sharing is entirely optional and can be disabled at any time.
Parent Dashboard: Only parents with the "Parent Version" subscription can view tracking data. Other family members cannot track each other without explicit consent.
🛡️ How We Handle Your Data:
- Emergency Use Only: Data is secured exclusively for emergency purposes. We only access information when a verified threat is detected.
- Weekly Reset: If no emergency event is initiated, all data automatically resets weekly to save storage costs and protect your privacy.
- On-Device Processing: All threat detection happens locally on your device. We can't see your conversations, locations, or personal activities.
- No Data Selling: We will NEVER sell, share, or monetize your family's personal information. Not now. Not ever.
- You Control Sharing: You decide what to share, when to share it, and who can see it.
- Age-Appropriate Controls: Different privacy levels for children vs. adults, respecting both safety needs and personal autonomy.

To continuously improve KYAS and provide the best protection for your family, we collect:
- App Usage Data: Anonymous usage patterns to improve app functionality and user experience
- Performance Metrics: Technical data about how features perform to optimize detection accuracy
- Threat Detection Feedback: Anonymous data about verified vs. false alerts to improve our algorithms
